Job Description

On behalf of our client, based in Mountmeillick, Co. Laois. We are seeking to recruit a Trainee Hydraulic Technician.

We are seeking a suitably skilled person who is interested in a role in which a person learns how to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair hydraulic systems.

Typical responsibilities include:

Assisting with the assembly and installation of hydraulic equipment and components.
Learning to diagnose faults in hydraulic systems.
Replacing hoses, seals, pumps, valves, and cylinders.
Carrying out preventative maintenance on hydraulic machinery.
Reading hydraulic schematics and technical drawings.
Using hand tools and testing equipment safely.
Maintaining work area cleanliness and following health and safety procedures.
Completing training modules and working towards competency in hydraulic maintenance.

Skills and qualities

Mechanical aptitude and an interest in engineering.
Good problem-solving skills.
Willingness to learn.
Attention to detail.
Ability to work as part of a team.
Good manual dexterity.
Awareness of health and safety practices.
Full clean driving licence

Desirable qualifications

Leaving Certificate (or equivalent).
Completion of any engineering course or entry level mechanical apprenticeship

Experience in the following industries would be a distinct advantage.
