Site Engineer, Portlaoise, Co. Laois

On behalf of our client we are seeking to recruit a Site Engineer for a major  Commercial Project in Portlaoise, Co. Laois.  Ireland

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer with strong setting out skills who is looking to progress their career and take on greater project responsibilities and managerial experience.

The successful candidate
will be involved in overseeing construction works, ensuring accuracy in setting out, and managing
site activities effectively.

Responsibilities:
 Ensure precise setting out of the works using total stations, GPS, and other surveying  instruments.
 Oversee construction activities, ensuring work is completed according to design specifications and project timelines.
 Monitor workmanship and materials to ensure compliance with industry standards and company procedures.
 Work closely with project managers, subcontractors, and suppliers to maintain efficient site operations.
 Ensure all site activities adhere to health and safety regulations.
 Maintain records, including site reports, RFIs, as-built drawings, and material take-offs.
 Provide regular updates to senior management on site progress and any technical
challenges.
 Potential to take on project management responsibilities and advance within the company.

Requirements:
 Degree/Diploma in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
 2/ 3 years of experience in a similar role, preferably on commercial projects.
 Strong setting out experience with proficiency in Total Station, GPS, and AutoCAD.
 Excellent understanding of construction drawings and specifications.
 Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently.
 Full driving licence and willingness to travel if required.

Comprehensive benefits package and salary in the region of €70,000 p.a. negotiable based on skills and experience.
